　　Andrew Leckey

Andrew Leckey, with experience as a syndicated investment columnist and network financial television anchor, is President of the Donald W. Reynolds National Center for Business Journalism and the Reynolds Endowed Chair in Business Journalism at Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University.

A Fulbright Scholar at Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou in 2014, he is a Visiting Scholar at Fudan Development Institute in Shanghai in summer 2017.

He has directed training of 12,000 business journalists at workshops. He launched the Reynolds Center; the Business Journalism.org web site; the Barlett & Steele Awards for Investigative Business Journalism; and the annual training seminar for business journalism professors and journalists. The center is based at the ASU Cronkite School in Phoenix, Arizona. Andrew also runs the Business Journalism Specialization, teaching lecture and online courses while coordinating internships and hiring with major news organizations.

Andrew was a long-time nationally-syndicated investment columnist for Chicago Tribune and Los Angeles Times; CNBC Network television anchor and reporter; and author or editor of 10 financial books. He received National Association of Investors Corporation's Distinguished Award in Investment Education and was first Director of Bloomberg Business Journalism Program at University of California, Berkeley. He was a Knight-Bagehot Fellow in Business and Economics Journalism and also a Media Studies Fellow, both at Columbia University, and is a graduate of Missouri School of Journalism. He was a year long visiting professor in business journalism at Boston University.

He appeared 40-plus times on China Central Television (CCTV9) as expert commentator on topics ranging from China’s economic plan to the G-20 meetings and U.S. trade policy. His articles have appeared in China’s Oriental Outlook national magazine, the Chinese edition of The Wall Street Journal, and as chapters in books on business published in China.

Andrew was Fulbright Specialist at Makerere University in Uganda in 2016. He has taught courses at Tsinghua University and University of International Business and Economics, and lectured at Shanghai International Studies University, Hong Kong Baptist University, City University of Hong Kong, and Financial Media Institute held at Fudan University. He has helped direct training seminars for university professors in China, run training for magazine reporters in television and spoken to the staffs of Global Times, Southern Media Group and Shanghai foreign correspondents.

He has hosted a visiting scholar from China in the U.S. for the past seven years; brought groups of U.S. university business journalism students to China and Brazil for courses in International Business Journalism; and mentored Chinese, Russian, African and Moldovan journalist fellows of Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship. He also lectured at Moscow State University and National University of Mongolia.

Andrew is an elected member of Board of Governors of the Society of American Business Editors and Writers (SABEW), on which its international committee, and on advisory board of Columbia’s Knight-Bagehot Fellowship. He previously was board member of Fulbright Association Arizona Chapter and national Fulbright Association Chapter Advisory Board. He is frequently interviewed by the media and a keynote speaker at conferences and conventions in the U.S. and abroad.
